Short Day

I got a call at work this morning from daycare saying Nicholas was stuffy and saying he didn't feel good, which is normal becuase he has a cold. They wouldn't call to tell me that. No, they were calling to say his chest was starting to sink around his ribs so that meant cold-induced asthma. Unfortunately his inhaler was expired so they couldn't give him that. They keep it locked up so I can't check the expiration date. Ooops! I carpooled today and didn't drive so now what?? I called Chris and he said he'd pick me up at work (we work very close to one another, but half an hour away from home and daycare) and we'd pick up Nicholas and he'd go back to work. When this first started several years ago we were fortunate that our Dr introduced us to a mask system for administering inhaler meds instead of trying to get Nicholas (and all his energy) to sit still for 15 minutes using a nebulizer. He does great with it and I think enjoys the special attention.
We hoped he would grow out of this by now, but I guess there is no telling what will happen. The whole family sees a chiropractor on a regular basis and that has helped some because he doesn't always have an asthma issue when he has a cold. Did you know that when you have a chiropractic adjustment your immune system doubles within 15 minutes? Amazing!

I feel bad for Nicholas but I do think he does enjoy the special attention associated with asthma. Asthma is no fun as his Grampa Gray can tell him.
Sorry you couldn't reach me but you did get to take the rest of the day off :)

SORRY! Jackson has asthma too. I hate it! His worse time of year is right now, so I have to keep the nebulizer out all the time, but that thing that Nicholas has looks pretty cool. I am going to ask about that next time! Hope he feels better!
