Duck Billed Platypus

May 2010

Nathan came home with his big end of the year project the other day. The night he brought it home he got started on it right away. One morning he came down after getting ready for school and he was working on it.

He is such a good student! They are learning about Australia and he has to choose an Australian animal for his project. He chose the platypus because he thinks it's such a weird animal, part beaver and part duck! He has to do research to answer some questions about the animal plus make his animal in 3-D. He decided to use a shoe box to show the habitat where the platypus lives and made the platypus out of clay all by himself.

He did some research on the Internet to find more information about his animal too. Thankfully we were given two weeks to complete the project because between sports and other events it took us that long to do a really good job. Here is he on the day he's bringing it in to school.
