We had a family birthday party to celebrate Chris's older brother, David, turning 40. This was actually a decoy party to make him think there wasn't going to be a big surprise party, which there was the following weekend. I always love when summer arrives and we spend more time outside hanging out with the family.
It was a gorgeous day and we sat on the deck opening his presents. He got a lot of funny, old fart type of cards. And apparently he has a sweet tooth because he got a lot of candy too.
We all had a good laugh at the gift wrapped in newspaper and dressed in pink landscaping tape. I suppose you gotta use what you've got around!
I think Terry went to Spencer's and got some gag gifts also.
Then came my favorite part, cake! Isn't this giant cupcake cake cool? It was loaded with candles and David didn't blow them out, he wet his fingers and used them to extinguish the flames. But these were the candles that light back up again so he had to do it many times. See all the smoke?
Then we went back inside to watch a slideshow of pictures of David through the years. It was such a nice tribute and his daughter Brittany put it together in the last week or so since she's been home from college.

OMG, that cupcake is HUGE. That made me salivate - thanks. Was it as good as it looks or did David not share? :)
That cake is AWESOME! I love hanging with Family too...it is the GREATEST!
