Last Friday we went to see the Fisher Cats game (local team baseball) with the boys and Grammy Hewey. The tickets were part of a fund raiser for Beaver Meadow and they raised $1000 towards the new playground. Before the game they let all the students walk in a parade around the field. It was pretty cute.
The boys had a hard time sitting through the game, Nicholas especially. I tried to teach Nathan about how many strikes and balls each batter gets and how many outs are in an inning. We also showed him the score board so he knew what the score was. They had a play area and that's pretty much where the kids spent most of the evening. They kept asking about having food because everyone around us was eating. So we let the boys have ice cream.
However, after the game they had a fireworks show and it was really great. I thought it would be small, but it really went on for a long time. Nathan said the game was good, but the fireworks were the best.
It was a late night, but a fun one. Oh, and the Fisher Cats creamed the other team. hehe.
