Advance warning, lots of pictures in this post! There were many more I could have posted, but I'll spare you!
We had the Hewey's and the Dean's over for some steak and summer squash & zucchini on the grill. It was a delicious dinner and we had leftover ice cream sundae's for dessert. (Left over from a neighborhood cookout we had last night) Gotta love holiday food.
After dinner Nathan asked Chris to pitch to him. The ladies were doing dishes so Grampy went out too and he started pitching to the boys. 
That was really special to me because as a little girl, Dave took a lot of interest in me playing softball. He gave me tips and pitched to me and helped me field and catch fly balls. This was the first time he's played ball with my boys though. 
He said it was the most fun he had had in years. I know the boys had a great time. Nathan hit first and Nicholas was fielding. 
Nathan would hit the ball into the street and Nicholas would tear off after it (after looking both ways first, of course). He would collect all the balls and hand them to Grampy. Nicholas thought that in order to get Nathan out, he had to throw the ball and hit him! Chris was trying to teach him how to tag him out. 
Then it was Nicholas' turn to hit. Grampy gave him tips on how to hold the bat (he was resting it on his shoulder). He only hit a couple balls, but when he made contact the ball went flying! When he hit the ball he was running to third base instead of first. Everyone really had a fun time.

NICE! I'm so glad Dave got out and played ball with the boys. We all know baseball is one of his passions.
Those pics will make GREAT scrapbook pages. Can't wait to see them!
