Becca invited us to shoot off rockets with her family at her Mom's house on Thanksgiving morning. I knew the boys would really enjoy the excitement of this so I dropped Chris off at Margee and Dad's house to get started on the turkey and took them over. Becca was so happy to see us and I enjoyed seeing her Mom Ina, husband Quinn, sister Michelle, and brother David. Her Mom's house was just as I remembered - full of activity that centers around the huge kitchen table. Everyone was in there making rockets and Becca sat down with Nathan and Nicholas and helped them build their own to blast off.
Nicholas couldn't wait to set his off, so after he put the wings on his rocket outside we went. He was so excited that he was clapping his hands and jumping up and down.
Michelle's daughter, Sydney, filled the blaster with air and let Nicholas hit the button to blast it off. His first try only went as far as the street, but he was still super excited.
Nathan finally got his rocket perfect and blast it off a few times. After a few tries both boys finally got them to cross the street into the track at Poston Jr. High.
Nathan's rocket blew up so he decided to make another one and wouldn't you know it, that one blew up too! Nicholas's survived and we brought it home with us.
Rumor has it Quinn won because his rocket went the farthest. Apparently this is quite a competitive family sport! It was so being a part of the Ray family fun and seeing Becca and her kids again. Thanks so much for inviting us Becca!
