Corn Mazes at Beech Hill

August 25, 2012

We tried the three corn mazes at Beech Hill Farm this afternoon. It was very warm in the sun and Nicholas and Orion took their shirts off to cool down. Orion had some sort of fascination with Nicholas's belly button and kept putting his finger in it and pushing it.

Each maze had it's own theme. We spent a lot of time in the White House Pets maze. Nathan and Kiera each copied down the name of the President when they found out who their family pet was.

I was quite shocked that each corn stalk only had two cobs of corn on them. That made me think you would need to plant a lot of corn to get a decent haul. We did get turned around a couple times in the maze and the adults got separated from the kids who wanted to go ahead of us, but thankfully we could just yell over the stalks to find each other.

Orion got tired towards the end and wanted to be carried, but Brian told him he needed to walk. That's when we got the response "I can't, it's too hard". Brian repeated that a lot during the trip and Nathan started saying it too. And of course our reward for finishing all three mazes was ice cream! We sat on the picnic table and enjoyed it together, but we had to eat quick because it was melting fast.
