Dave’s 87th
birthday fell on a Saturday this year so we went over to celebrate with him and
Mom. Barbara and Gerry Larose were also there for the festivities. Dave
requested that Nathan play the violin as his birthday gift to him. He looked
ahead in his music book and found a piece called Grandparents Day and played
that for him along with Good King Wenceslas, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Jingle
Bells and a few other songs.
A few of his other gifts included a set of
wrapping paper and gift card to Osborne’s Agway from us, Reese's Peanut Butter
cups, wine, and Spanish peanuts.
Then of course it was time for cake and Nathan
and Nicholas helped clean all the frosting off the candles. I wonder if that
tradition will ever grow old.
Something that will surely never grow old is trying on Dave's glasses. Always good for a laugh!
