Today we had the Revellese family and the Rollins family over for a BBQ, swimming, s'mores and fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July. While we were making s'mores the kids saw fireflies in the trees and caught a whole bunch of them. The fireworks display was actually quite impressive for a private event. We got sparklers for the kids too, but three of the six burned their fingers! They liked to arrange the sparklers on the ground so that when one was about to burn out it would light the next one.
Watching the men with the fireworks was amusing and frightening. They'd light one and run away from it. Some of them they had to hold in their hands while the firework shot out of the tube. Then they got more daring and held three at a time in their hands. It was a really fun night and everyone was exhausted by the time the show was over.

Looks like a fun time! We also set off our own fireworks! My sister and her family came over for a BBQ and then the guys set off the fireworks. It was funny watching them light them and then run :) They want to go bigger next year :/ I'm a little worried.
Men become different people when fire and things that pop are around! They return to their childhood roots...hehehehehe! Glad you had fun!
Everything but the finger burning part sounds like a lot of fun for everyone!
