We Want a Pitcher, Not a Belly Itcher!

April 28 - June 12, 2012

This was Nathan's second season playing Kid Pitch baseball. This year he pitched several times and he did a good job. Chris helped coach and gave him lots of pointers on pitching. You could see Nathan get frustrated sometimes after he had thrown a lot of pitches and started to walk people.

In one of his earlier games he was given the game ball for catching fly balls. I have to say that is one thing I saw a great improvement in this year. He got in front of balls and caught them. He played short stop and that is an active position because he had to back up the pitcher in case there were any balls overthrown to him. He also ended up stopping lots of balls or making a dramatic dive. He worked on taking his time when throwing to first base for the out. When he played third base he did a great job covering for steals. He was so much more engaged in the game and was really paying attention throughout the entire game.

His hitting improved greatly also. He seemed more confident and would swing. He had a hit at almost every at bat. He made this funny face when the ball was pitched to him. He would blow up his cheeks with air. I was cracking up when I took pictures of him.

At the end of the season we only won three games, but the big difference over last year was the morale of the team. Their spirits stayed high throughout the entire season.
