Boston Museum Of Science

April 26, 2012

The kids were on spring vacation this week so we took a couple days off to spend with them. We decided to take them to the Boston Museum of Science for the first time. We didn't do very good taking pictures, but that is because we were involved in the exhibits with the kids. We were reading the directions to them or doing the experiments with them. These mirrors were hysterical and we couldn't stop laughing at what they did to the shape of our heads.

Right off the bat we went to a Science in the Playground exhibit and there were lots of examples of simple machines, which was perfect because that is what Nathan is studying in 4th grade right now. The kids really enjoyed the live science show where the instructor talked about molecules and how much space they take up when they are warm and when they are cold. She asked everyone to make predictions.  We liked looking at all the stuffed birds too because the boys are really into birds. Chris remembered the Electricity Show from when he was a kid so he was excited to take the boys to that. Nicholas did surprisingly good at it considering how loud it was. I think they were both impressed by the flashes of electricity! We also learned about dinosaurs, Geckos, the human body, and New England habitats.

I love places like that! The Arizona Science Center is such a fun place to go, that place sounds a lot like it!
